Enrichment and Experiences
It’s all about Social Capital.
Each Scholar participates in a variety of experiences which can include visits to colleges, career visits/shadowing, community service opportunities, leadership courses, cooking classes, visual and performing arts shows, and more.
We believe that educational opportunities expand far beyond the school grounds. Enrichment experiences give Scholars the opportunity to learn the unspoken norms and rituals for behavior they would not necessarily learn within their day-to-day lives. They have the ability to visit colleges that they might apply to and experience other aspects of the Charlotte community like performing arts shows and hiking. Scholars are able to expand their scope of possibilities and learn to successfully navigate a broad range of environments while establishing the social capital that will feed their confidence in establishing future relationships on shared experiences.
